Who I Am
I'm Surya Mathivanan, an AI & Data Science graduate (2026) from KIT – Kalaignarkarunanidhi Institute of Technology, Coimbatore. I specialize in building intelligent, scalable systems that combine modern AI capabilities with robust backend development.
My core expertise lies in Python, Django, and Flask, along with designing and developing REST APIs and full-stack applications. I have hands-on experience working with databases such as PostgreSQL and MySQL, and I follow strong software engineering principles including OOP, clean code, and version control using Git and GitHub.
I actively work with modern AI technologies including Large Language Models (LLMs), Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), Transformers, and Vector Databases to build real-world AI-powered applications. I enjoy turning complex data and models into practical, user-focused solutions.
Over the years, I have built multiple real-world projects ranging from AI-powered tools and intelligent assistants to web applications and APIs. I have also participated in several national-level hackathons and consistently practice problem-solving on platforms like CodeChef and LeetCode.
I have completed internships and training in Python and Data Science, and earned certifications in AI, Machine Learning, and Software Development. I am a quick learner, adaptable to new technologies, and passionate about building impactful tech solutions.
Currently, I am seeking opportunities as an AI Engineer, Backend Developer, or Software Developer where I can contribute, learn, and grow by building scalable and intelligent systems.

A full-stack web application built with Django and React to track, analyze, and reduce campus carbon emissions. Features emission calculation, data visualization dashboards, JWT authentication, and PostgreSQL.
A real-time interactive quiz platform built with React, Express, Socket.IO, TypeScript, and PostgreSQL. Features live question sync, automatic scoring, leaderboard, admin panel, and WebSocket communication.
A Flask web application allowing registered users to search Wikipedia articles, listen to summaries using TTS, and download content as PDF or audio files. Includes user authentication and MySQL search history.
A self-interest project exploring Power BI dashboarding using a public Spotify dataset to analyze songs, artists, and platform performance. Showcases various chart types and interactive analytics.
